This is a public body whose purpose is to plan, coordinate and manage resources for the prevention and care of emergencies and disasters of natural origin or caused by human action in the national territory.
Among paintings and drawings, historical documents and rubble from the former Alto Río building are also included (rescued and resignified by the Alto Río Foundation and the Fundación Proyecta Memoria) as a tribute to the victims of the former building and a wake-up call to the lack of Justice. Alto Río was a building located on Los Carrera avenue in the city of Concepción, Chile. Just one year after it was inaugurated, this building collapsed after the earthquake of February 27, 2010, breaking in two as a result of its construction failures, killing 8 people.
